Etoosindia.com provides comprehensive information about IIT JEE 2013

Etoosindia brings to you certain significant facts which comprise of IIT JEE 2013 pattern, eligibility and admissions.

Gurgaon, Haryana – It has been devised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) that 2013 onwards the IIT JEE Exam will be held in two parts namely JEE Main and JEE Advanced. The top 150,000 candidates shortlisted in JEE Main would be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced (irrespective of the categories). Those who worry about how many times a candidate can give the JEE Advanced exam, the final verdict is that the number of attempts shall be limited to 02 (two) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 exam in 2012 or appearing in +2 in 2013 are only eligible to appear in the JEE Main 2013. Candidates who attempted JEE 2011 and JEE 2012 would not be allowed to appear for the JEE Advanced 2013 even if they are one among the top 1.5 lakh candidates.

The limit on the number of attempts to JEE Advanced is 2 years, only if the candidate has appeared in the consecutive years which implies that candidates who appeared in JEE 2011 and did not appear in 2012, will not be eligible to write JEE Advanced’13 unless they qualify JEE Mains’13. Candidates who cleared XII examination in 2012 with less than minimum marks for qualifying examination (MMQE) and could not qualify JEE 2012, they will be eligible to appear for a Board re examination in 2013 so as to obtain MMQE and will be eligible to write JEE Advanced 2013. If a candidate scored the MMQE for the exam in 2011, but did not attempt JEE’11 or ’12, is eligible to write JEE Advanced if he/she is one amongst the top 1.5 lakh candidates (including all categories), who qualifies with his/her respective category wise cut-off scores in IIT JEE Main 2013.

CBSE has also decided that the admission to any of the IITs will be based on category wise All India rank in JEE Advanced on a condition that the candidates represent the top twenty percentile. For admission to NITs, 40% weightage would be given to XII scores and 60% to the performance in JEE Main. A combined All India Rank would be decided accordingly. On the request for state engineering colleges and universities, the JEE Main examination will also be conducted in the regional languages.
